The collagen skincare stick exists for the moments a full routine is not an option: a desk at four in the afternoon, an aeroplane, a car park before a meeting. Nine grams of solid balm in a twist-up tube, it glides on smoothly over or under makeup, with no fingers and no mirror required.

The balm is built on a moisturising base of glycerin, mineral oil and glyceryl stearate, with salmon egg extract and camellia seed oil bringing richness and a soft, non-shiny finish. Arginine and hexanediol keep the formula stable in a stick format. It is particularly good on the high points of the cheeks, around the nose in cold weather, and anywhere makeup has started to cling to dry patches.

Twist up a few millimetres, glide it over the area that needs it, and press in gently with a fingertip. Available in single, three-pack and five-pack, which makes it easy to keep one in a bag, one at work and one by the bed. Suitable for all skin types; store below 25 degrees so the balm holds its shape. In cold weather it doubles as a rescue balm for chapped patches around the nose and the corners of the mouth, which is where central heating and wind tend to show first.
